What an AWESOME morning! As soon as you walked in all you could see was pink…pink hats, pink feathers, pink quilts and pink food!
With the help of my craft group ‘Craft Connection’ and the ‘She’ group at Christian City Church we organised a fundraising morning tea called ‘Tickled Pink’ for Breast Cancer Research. There were over 150 ladies that came and even 1 man!
Everyone wore pink and bought a plate of pink food.
There were pink ribbons with buttons stitched on them given out at the door, we had pink related competitions to enter, bra bags to judge and there were beaded craft kits on the table just begging to be made!
Throughout the morning there were pink games played and entertainment to watch, from tap dancing ladies to ballerina girls, a saxophone jazz number and a singer and her guitarist. There was so much to do and see.
We also put together a recipe book to sell that included favourite ‘High Tea Rrecipes’ collected from the craft group ladies. This little pink recipe book was designed by Melanie Evans from SASS Creative (my talented daughter), thank you so much for your time spent on this.
Everybody was ‘tickled pink’ with the morning and as people were leaving they were asking us when and where next years morning tea would be held… when we have over 200 people!
We just wanted to thank everyone who was involved, I appreciate so much all the hard work and time that was given in order to make it all happen.
Thank you to Patchwork with Gail B and Creative Abundance for the prizes and giveaways they donated that helped make the morning such a success.
And a very special thanks to my Husband who spent his Sunday afternoon and evening binding recipe books and counting out beads… I love you!
Happy Quilting
