We made this “I spy” quilt for my grand daughter Scarlett’s 3rd birthday. We chose pretty fabrics in her favourite colours, which featured pictures of all her favourite things. Everything from butterflies to handbags, fairy castles to jelly beans are there. Many of them were sparkly fabrics, fit for a princess. We used snuggly polar fleece on the back for extra cuddliness.
Scarlett insists on sleeping under it every night, and “I spy” has become her favourite game. It is also a perfect picnic rug, a robe for a princess, a magic carpet to transport her to other places, makes a super cubby house, and is the best thing to snuggle under when she doesn’t feel well. It is a great quilt for encouraging interaction with little children, and enormous fun for both old and young alike.
